This weekend SAFER will have a booth at the Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods People's Fair and we encourage you to come by and sign the petition if you have yet to do so. We're also looking for folks who'd like to help us collect signatures at the booth, as well as at the Sensible Colorado booth, so please contact us if you're interested. SAFER's booth is right near the corner of 14th & Bannock, in the non-profit section near People Speak (Map) CHUN People's Fair Civic Center Park - Denver Colfax Ave. between Bannock and Lincoln Saturday, June 3 - 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday, June 4 - 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Last weekend, the campaign brought in about 3,000 signatures at the Boulder Creek Festival and Bolder Boulder. We had about 5-10 circulators there at all times throughout the weekend along with a great deal of support from NORML for Boulder and the Libertarian Party of Boulder County. We hope to do even more at People's Fair, so please come help out or simply drop by and say hello. Tuesday, May 30, 2006

On Saturday, May 20, we travelled to Greeley to collect signatures at the Colorado Democratic Assembly. Our petition was well received and we collected about 350 signatures in just a couple hours. Democratic delegates, activists, candidates and elected officials signed the petition, and it was great to find that many of the attendees had already signed the petition at some point in the past couple months.

Just 10 days left to get paid for collecting SAFER signatures! After a couple months of petitioning, we are at about 30,000-35,000 total signatures and one-third of the way to our goal of 100,000 raw signatures. We are hopeful that our total will shoot up at the end of this month, as we recently implemented a financial incentive program for our 400+ circulators that ends June 1. If you are not already collecting signatures and would like to do so this next week or so and get paid for them, please contact us. If you are already circulating petitions and want to receive cash for the signatures you gathered between May 11 and May 31, we must have them in our hands by June 7 (or they must be postmarked by June 4). We would appreciate your getting your petitions notarized on your own, but please let us know if you are having trouble finding a notary and we will help you take care of it. Notarized petitions can be sent to us at: SAFER P.O. Box 40332 Denver, CO 80204

![]() Alcohol use is far more harmful than marijuana use to both the user and to society, and Colorado citizens are fed up with a system that punishes adults for using marijuana while allowing -- and often encouraging them -- to use alcohol. It is time our government stop driving people to drink and allow them to make the safer choice.
