SAFER's booth at Pride Fest was jumping the entire weekend -- much like it was at People's Fair -- and thanks to a great volunteer turnout we had a very productive event. At least 4,000 signatures were collected this past weekend at Pride Fest in Denver, Country Jam in Grand Junction, and a variety of concerts and events around the state. We hope to carry this momentum into the upcoming long weekend, and will have a table at the Ratdog and String Cheese Incident shows at Red Rocks on July 1 and 2. We will also have a table at the Blues Traveler show at Red Rocks on the Fourth of July. Please come by if your at the shows and say hello. Sunday, June 11, 2006

June has already been a huge month for the signature drive to put the Colorado marijuana initiative on the ballot. Thousands of signatures were collected at the People's Fair in Denver, thanks in large part to all the folks who came out and staffed the SAFER booth and collected signatures around the event. We also received some great help from our friends at Sensible Colorado and the Libertarian Party of Colorado, who were also out collecting signatures for the initiative. We've also done quite well at Red Rocks since it opened this month. We cleaned house at the moe./Umphrey's McGee show on June 3 and had great luck at the Big Head Todd & The Monsters show on June 10. We will continue to have a presence at Red Rocks throughout the summer, so please contact us if you're interested in hitting the lots and helping us out. June 20 - Chicago w/ Huey Lewis & The News June 23, 24, 25 - Widespread Panic June 28 - Rob Thomas w/ Jewel July 1, 2 - String Cheese Incident w/ Bob Weir & Ratdog July 4 - Blues Traveler July 5 - Counting Crows w/ The Goo Goo Dolls

![]() Alcohol use is far more harmful than marijuana use to both the user and to society, and Colorado citizens are fed up with a system that punishes adults for using marijuana while allowing -- and often encouraging them -- to use alcohol. It is time our government stop driving people to drink and allow them to make the safer choice.
